2027: APC Set for Victory, PDP on the Brink of Extinction – Ganduje Responds to Lamido

By Abdulrahman Zakariyau

Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has firmly rejected suggestions that he might join the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In response to claims made by former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, that the APC was on the verge of collapse, Ganduje declared that the PDP was “dead” and that the APC was focused on securing a resounding victory in the upcoming 2027 elections.

Lamido had earlier asserted that the APC would split and that former PDP members, including Ganduje, would return to the opposition party. He predicted that the PDP would rise again in time to reclaim power in 2027.

However, Ganduje swiftly dismissed these claims as baseless. In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje stated that Lamido’s suggestion was not only unfounded but also irrational. Rather than considering a return to the PDP, Ganduje pointed out that it would be Lamido who would soon find himself joining the APC, given the PDP’s internal turmoil and inevitable demise.

“By the end of 2025, the PDP will cease to exist due to its internal conflicts,” Ganduje predicted, emphasizing that under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, the APC continues to gain significant political momentum. As the ruling party attracts increasing numbers of prominent politicians, Ganduje reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to consolidating its achievements and preparing for an overwhelming victory in the 2027 general elections.

He also urged Lamido to focus on addressing the challenges within the PDP rather than spreading false claims. Ganduje proudly reaffirmed his dedication to strengthening the APC’s internal democracy and advancing good governance as the party looks ahead to 2027.
