The Ekiti State Amotekun Corps has arrested two siblings for allegedly stealing home items worth N15 million and attempting to sell them at a much lower price.

According to Abiodun Adeleye, Head of Communications for Amotekun, one of the suspects, Joshua Nawjul (25), who worked as a night guard at Agric Olope Street, Ado-Ekiti, was caught on Saturday, January 8. He allegedly broke into the home of Hon. Babayemi Odunayo on January 1, 2025, stealing valuables such as a 40-inch plasma TV, a big generator, two laptops, and cable wires.

Joshua later confessed to the crime, revealing that his elder brother helped him find a buyer in Atikankan, where they planned to sell the stolen items for just N70,000, despite their actual worth of N15 million.

Additionally, Amotekun operatives in Oye-Ekiti arrested two more suspects, John Wuyeb (23) and Daniel Titus (24), for allegedly stealing baby products, including clothes, creams, and diapers, from a shop owned by Mrs. Opeyemi Omoyajowo.

All suspects have confessed to their crimes and have been handed over to the Ekiti State Police Rapid Response Squad for further investigation and prosecution.
