Hamas has declared that any potential ceasefire in Gaza must include a total Israeli withdrawal from the territory, following reports that the group was reviewing Israel’s latest truce proposal.
This statement comes amid escalating tensions, with Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz announcing that Israeli forces will remain indefinitely in areas of Gaza they have captured, designating them as “security zones.” Katz also stated that no humanitarian aid will be allowed into Gaza, saying food and resources are being used as leverage against Hamas.
