PSG Beat Arsenal 3-1 on Aggregate to Reach Champions League Final

Paris Saint-Germain secured their place in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final with a 3-1 aggregate victory over Arsenal, following a 2-1 win in the second leg at the Parc des Princes. The French side had already gained an advantage in the first leg with Ousmane Dembele’s goal, and they continued to build on that in front of their home crowd.

Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a powerful shot from outside the box, giving PSG a comfortable lead after surviving an early onslaught from Arsenal. The Gunners had their chances, with goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma making several crucial saves, including one from Martin Odegaard’s powerful shot.

Despite missing a penalty in the second half—saved by Arsenal’s David Raya—PSG extended their lead in the 72nd minute, with Achraf Hakimi finishing off a well-placed assist from Dembele. Bukayo Saka pulled one back for Arsenal, but it was too little, too late.

With a place in the final secured, PSG will face Inter Milan in Munich on May 31, 2025. This will be PSG’s second Champions League final, five years after their defeat to Bayern Munich in Lisbon.

For Arsenal, it marks the end of their European campaign, with hopes of a second Champions League final dashed. The team’s focus now shifts to securing a third consecutive second-place finish in the Premier League.

The atmosphere in Paris was electric, as PSG celebrated their progression to the final in front of a packed home crowd, something they were unable to do during their 2020 semi-final against RB Leipzig due to the pandemic.

Despite losing Dembele to a hamstring injury in the first leg, PSG’s tactical resilience and attacking prowess ultimately sealed their place in the 2025 Champions League final.
