Wike, Umahi, and Others Head to London to Present Tinubu’s Achievements

Several key Nigerian ministers, including Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and Dave Umahi, Minister of Works, are set to travel to London, United Kingdom, for a high-profile international press conference showcasing the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The event, organized by the President Bola Tinubu Midterm Legacy Projects Review Committee, will feature a comprehensive presentation of major accomplishments across various sectors in the administration’s first 24 months.

Bode Adeyemi, the committee’s Project Internal Coordinator, revealed the development during a press briefing in Abuja. According to him, other top officials expected at the conference include:

  • Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior
  • Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission
  • Usman Osidi, Managing Director, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria
  • Zaccheus Adedeji, Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service

Adeyemi explained that the administration’s achievements have been compiled into a detailed compendium and will also be published online at the London event.

“We’ve taken records of all major accomplishments of this administration. The Midas touch of President Tinubu has led to a verifiable success story despite global economic challenges,” he stated.

🗣️ Correcting the Global Narrative

Speaking ahead of the event, Tunde Doherty, Chairman of the APC UK Chapter, emphasized the importance of correcting negative perceptions and telling the “right story” about Nigeria’s governance.

He praised the Tinubu administration for notable milestones such as:

  • Commencement of production by local and private refineries
  • Push for local government autonomy
  • Flagship infrastructure projects like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway
  • Timely IMF debt repayments
  • Subsidy removal, which has doubled allocations to states
  • Improved rule of law and national security

Doherty noted that these efforts represent a “new era of governance” and that the international conference will reinforce Nigeria’s image as a country on the path to reform and development.
