JAMB Releases Results for Rescheduled 2025 UTME — Over 21,000 Absent

By Joseph Erunke, Abuja

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held for candidates who experienced technical challenges at their initial exam centres.

According to a statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, a total of 336,845 candidates were rescheduled for the makeup exam. However, 21,082 candidates failed to show up on the exam day.

The resit was conducted to accommodate students from centres where technical issues had marred the original UTME sessions. JAMB said the results were released after excluding centres with isolated good sessions and including previously unverified candidates.

“Of the 336,845 who were eventually scheduled after isolated good sessions of the affected centres were excluded and their previously unverified candidates were added, 21,082 were absent,” the statement read.

No specific reason was given for the large number of absentees.

How to Check 2025 JAMB Resit Results

Candidates who took part in the rescheduled UTME can check their results by:

  1. Visiting the official JAMB portal: https://www.jamb.gov.ng
  2. Clicking on “Check UTME Results”
  3. Entering their registration number or phone number
  4. Viewing and printing their result slip

Further details about admission processes, cut-off marks, and timelines are expected to be released in the coming days.
