Amotekun Nabs Six in Osun Over ₦4.5m Steel Theft, Burglary, and Property Vandalism
Osogbo, Osun State – The Amotekun Corps in Osun State has arrested six individuals involved in various criminal activities, including a ₦4.5 million iron steel theft, burglary, and vandalism of government property.
₦4.5 Million Steel Theft in Ede
Three suspects — Wilson Titus (26), Gabriel Simon (23), and Ogundele Sunday (32) — were apprehended during a surveillance operation at a private company in Ede. The trio, who were employees of the company, were found to have systematically stolen iron steel and sold it to scrap dealers in Sabo, Ede.
According to Corps spokesperson Yusuf Idowu, one of the suspects, Wilson, confessed to selling the stolen steel for between ₦3,000 and ₦7,000, depending on the size and weight of the materials.
More Arrests for Burglary and Theft
In a separate operation in Ila-Orangun, Ogunbunmi Yemi (38) was arrested for allegedly breaking into a residential building and carting away household items such as a television set, generator, and iron rods. The suspect reportedly admitted that he intended to sell the items to support himself.
Similarly, Biodun Akinwale (32) was caught red-handed while dismantling aluminium fittings from a newly completed structure at the Ede North Local Government Secretariat. He had broken into the building through windows and was apprehended after a vigilant resident alerted the authorities.

Reacting to the series of arrests, Amotekun Corps Commander Adekunle Omoyele praised the intelligence unit for its efficient operations and reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to protecting lives and property across Osun State.
“These arrests are a result of precise intelligence gathering and coordinated action. We urge residents to continue sharing credible information with us,” Omoyele stated.
