The Kebbi State Government has confirmed that at least 30 people were killed in the recent bandit attacks on communities in the Zuru Emirate, triggering grief and heightened security concerns across the region.

During a condolence visit on Friday, local government chairmen Muhammad Gajere (Zuru LGA) and Hussaini Bena (Danko Wasagu LGA) reported that 16 victims were killed in Tadurga, while 14 others lost their lives in Kyebu and Yar-Kuka in Waje District.

Several others sustained injuries, and livestock were stolen as the armed bandits wreaked havoc.

Representing Governor Nasir Idris, Deputy Governor Senator Umar Tafida announced a ₦50 million relief donation, with ₦25 million allocated each to Tadurga and Kyebu to support grieving families and aid recovery efforts.

“This support is to help ease the burden on affected families. We’re also working to block all known entry routes into these communities to prevent future attacks,” Tafida stated.

The government has reassured residents of increased security measures and proactive steps to stem the tide of rural violence.
