Israel Bombs Gaza as Ceasefire Talks Continue, 27 Palestinians Killed Today

Israeli forces continue a heavy aerial bombardment of the Gaza Strip, killing at least 27 Palestinians today, according to local health officials. Just a day earlier, 78 people were reported dead in airstrikes across the enclave, including 12 killed in a single house bombing in Gaza City.

These attacks come even as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed that Israeli negotiators will travel to Qatar for ceasefire talks. However, it said that changes proposed by Hamas to the ceasefire agreement were currently “unacceptable.”

📜 Ceasefire Proposal Details Leaked

Al Jazeera has obtained a draft of the proposed Gaza ceasefire, which includes the following points:

  • A Trump-guaranteed 60-day ceasefire
  • Hamas to release 10 living Israeli hostages and 18 bodies on day one
  • Entry of humanitarian aid, including food, via UN and Red Crescent channels
  • A cease in all Israeli military operations across Gaza
  • A daily 10-hour pause in surveillance and air activities
  • Redeployment of Israeli troops from northern Gaza, the Netzarim Corridor, and southern Gaza
  • Immediate talks to begin on a permanent ceasefire

Despite these conditions, scepticism remains high.

🕯️ Global Mourning: Netherlands Residents Read Names of Gaza Victims

In Nijmegen, a Dutch city with a WWII legacy of destruction, citizens are holding name readings for those killed in the ongoing war. Organizers began by reading the names of the October 7 Israeli victims, which took 1.5 hours. Now, they’re halfway through the names of Palestinians killed in Gaza, which they expect will take 100 hours to complete.

🚨 Arrests in Occupied West Bank: Child Detained

Israeli forces conducted overnight raids in the occupied West Bank, arresting three Palestinians, including a 16-year-old boy in the village of al-Mazraa al-Gharbiya, northwest of Ramallah. Troops also stormed the Am’ari refugee camp in the Ramallah and el-Bireh governorate.

🧠 Analysis: Trump-Netanyahu Meeting May Shape Gaza’s Fate

Netanyahu’s visit to Washington on Monday for his third 2025 meeting with Trump could prove pivotal. Trump recently claimed that Israel had accepted a 60-day ceasefire plan, which analysts say may be part of a broader U.S.-Israeli strategy to consolidate gains in Iran and Gaza.

Hamas reportedly gave a “positive” response to Egyptian and Qatari mediators about the proposal. However, ongoing military actions cast doubt on Israel’s willingness to implement the plan in full.
