Kebbi ADC Suspends Chairman, Deputy, and Secretary for Alleged Misconduct

The Kebbi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended its top leadership following allegations of financial mismanagement, misconduct, and poor leadership performance.

At a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, the State Publicity Secretary, Jamilu Muhammad, announced the suspension of the party chairman, Sufiyanu Bala, Deputy Chairman, Junaidu Muhammed Mudi, and Secretary, Hawwa’u Muhammed.

According to Muhammad, the decision came after extensive consultations with party stakeholders. He accused the suspended officials of diverting party funds for personal gain, making unilateral decisions without the approval of the State Working Committee, and failing to promote transparency, accountability, and unity within the party.

“They have failed to position the ADC for political relevance in Kebbi State,” Muhammad said.

In the interim, the ADC has appointed Abdulrazaq Abubakar Isah Iko as Acting Chairman and Adamu Aliyu as Acting Secretary.

The party cautioned the public against conducting any official transactions with the suspended officers and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to curb early political campaigns that breach the Electoral Act.
