Minister of Works, David Umahi, has reaffirmed that all governors from the South-East are in full support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Speaking in a video shared by @peopleofebonyi_ on Instagram, Umahi declared that the region’s political leaders stand solidly behind the President, stressing that the South-East has benefited from Tinubu’s administration through unprecedented federal presence.
“All the governors of the South-East are supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term,” Umahi said.
The former governor of Ebonyi State further noted that his performance in office qualifies him to play a leading role when the presidency is eventually zoned to the South-East.
“When the presidency comes to the South East, I should be at the forefront because of my performance. God used me to better Ebonyi State, and Tinubu is using me to better the South East,” he stated.
Umahi also revealed that a regional political summit is being planned to formally declare support for Tinubu’s 2027 ambition, highlighting that Igbo leaders seek fairness and equal treatment for all zones in Nigeria.
According to him, Tinubu’s administration has already transformed the region with at least four major federal projects ongoing in Ebonyi State, ending years of complaints about lack of federal presence.
“The Igbo man is enterprising and blessed with God-given wisdom. What Ndi Igbo seek is fairness, a Nigeria that treats every zone equally. That is what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing,” Umahi added.
