Big Brother Naija has paid tribute to three former housemates who have passed away — Francisca Owumi, Joseph Ada, and Rico Swavey — celebrating their impact on the show and its community.
During the live show on Monday, current season’s housemates gathered in silence as images of the late stars appeared on screen, followed by a minute of silence to honour their memories.
Francisca Owumi, the vibrant runner-up of BBNaija’s debut season in 2006, was remembered for her energetic personality and love for dance. She sadly passed away in 2024 after battling an illness.
Joseph “Joe” Ada, also from the 2006 season, was honoured following his passing in May 2023 after health challenges.
The tribute also remembered Rico Swavey (Patrick Fakoya) from the 2018 Double Wahala season. Known for his creativity, music, and calm spirit, he tragically lost his life in a car accident in 2022.
The BBNaija organisers described the tribute as a way to celebrate their contributions, ensuring their legacies live on in the hearts of fans and fellow housemates.
