Alexander Isak Set for £125m Liverpool Transfer on Premier League Deadline Day

Alexander Isak Ready for Record £125m Liverpool Switch on Transfer Deadline Day

Liverpool are set to complete the British-record £125 million signing of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United as the Premier League’s transfer deadline day reaches a frantic finale.

The 25-year-old Sweden striker arrived at Liverpool’s training ground on Monday, edging closer to finalising his move after weeks of negotiations. The deal will eclipse the Reds’ previous record outlay of £110 million for Florian Wirtz earlier this summer.

Isak, who scored 27 goals for Newcastle last season, has made clear his desire to leave despite having three years left on his contract. He has not trained with Eddie Howe’s side since rejecting a new deal.

Liverpool’s Big Spending Summer

Once confirmed, Isak will become Liverpool’s eighth first-team signing of the summer window, with Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi also close to joining in a £35m move.
Liverpool’s total spending this summer is expected to surpass £450m, with departures including Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Newcastle Reinforcements

Newcastle, meanwhile, have already secured Nick Woltemade for a club-record £69m and are close to signing Brentford forward Yoane Wissa, who scored 19 league goals last season.

Other Major Deadline-Day Moves

  • Manchester City are closing in on PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma for €35m, with Ederson linked to Fenerbahce.
  • Manchester United are set to sign Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for €21m (£18m), while also negotiating exits for Antony (to Real Betis) and Jadon Sancho (loan to Aston Villa).
  • Aston Villa have also landed former United defender Victor Lindelof on a free transfer.
  • Chelsea signed Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte on loan, while Tottenham agreed a loan deal for PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani.

With the transfer window closing at 18:00 GMT, Liverpool’s record-breaking move for Isak is expected to dominate the headlines as the biggest deal of the day.
