On Wednesday morning, Bola Tinubu has proclaimed the winner of the 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
Atiku Abubakar of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), received 6,984,520 votes; Peter Obi of the Labour Party received 6,101,533 votes and finished third. Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), who received 1,496,687 votes, were all opponents of the APC candidate.
Tinubu, Obi, and Atiku won 12 of the 36 states and the FCT, but Kwankwaso prevailed in Kano State.
By 3 p.m. today, March 1, 2023, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, his vice president, will receive the certificate of return.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, one of his followers, expressed happiness and told Nigerians that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a decent man and will make the best president for Nigeria.
The presentation of the Senate House and House of Representatives elect’s certificates of return will be announced in a statement that will be made later today, according to Professor Mahmood Yakubu.
