🇳🇬 WAFCON 2024: Ajibade Named Best Player, Nnadozie Wins Top Goalkeeper – Full Awards List

Nigeria’s Super Falcons capped off their record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title with a flurry of individual awards, highlighting their dominance at the 2024 edition in Rabat, Morocco.

👑 Ajibade Crowned Tournament MVP

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade emerged as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), following a series of electrifying performances. The 24-year-old winger was a driving force behind Nigeria’s unbeaten run, earning Woman of the Match in three games and leading by example throughout the campaign. Her creative flair and resilience were on full display in the dramatic 3-2 comeback victory against Morocco in the final.

🧤 Nnadozie Stands Tall in Goal

Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, just 23, clinched the Best Goalkeeper award. She conceded only two goals in open play—both in the final—and was instrumental in Nigeria’s defensive solidity. Her crucial saves, particularly in the semi-final win over South Africa, helped seal Nigeria’s route to the title.

⚽ Chebbak Takes Golden Boot, South Africa Wins Fair Play

Despite Morocco’s heartbreak in the final, Ghizlane Chebbak claimed the Golden Boot with five goals, including one in the final. Meanwhile, South Africa received the Fair Play Award for their outstanding sportsmanship.

The Super Falcons remain unbeaten in WAFCON finals, winning 10 out of 10 appearances, reaffirming their status as Queens of African football.
