London — Arsenal have confirmed that William Saliba has signed a new long-term contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.
The 24-year-old France international, whose previous deal was due to expire in 2027, has agreed fresh terms following months of speculation about his future. Reports had linked him with Real Madrid, but the defender has opted to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium.
Saliba joined Arsenal in 2019, spending loan spells in France before becoming a cornerstone of Mikel Arteta’s defense in the 2022/23 season. Since then, he has played a key role in a team that has finished second in the Premier League for three consecutive campaigns.
“I feel at home. We have a good team, we have a good squad, we have good staff. The coach is perfect for me, so it’s the best place to be,” Saliba said after signing.
“I enjoy every day when I wear this shirt. I try to give everything, and now I’ll give even more to this club and to the fans.”
Manager Mikel Arteta hailed Saliba’s progress and importance to the team:

The Gunners currently sit second in the Premier League, just two points behind leaders Liverpool after six matches this season.
Saliba’s extension represents a huge boost to Arsenal’s ambitions as they continue their push to end a two-decade wait for a Premier League title.
