BREAKING: National Assembly Reopens Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Senate Office After Suspension

The National Assembly has officially unsealed the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the lawmaker representing Kogi Central, after her prolonged suspension.

According to Channels Television, her office, located at Suite 2.05 in the Senate Wing, was reopened on Tuesday morning by the Sergeant at Arms of the National Assembly with the support of combined security personnel.

📌 Background

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was handed a six-month suspension in March 2025 after protesting the reassignment of her seat by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on February 20. The Senate barred her from participating in all legislative activities, citing misconduct.

Her suspension officially ended in September 2025, but she faced additional hurdles, including legal disputes and resistance from Senate leadership, which delayed her return.

📝 Natasha’s Push for Reinstatement

Last week, the Senator wrote to the Senate leadership, notifying them of her readiness to resume duties following the expiration of her suspension. However, the request was initially turned down, sparking fresh debates about legislative accountability and due process.

🔎 What’s Next?

With her office now reopened, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is expected to resume full legislative duties in the coming days, though tensions may linger with the Senate leadership.

This development marks a significant step in the political standoff that has kept the Kogi Central representative away from her official responsibilities for six months.
