
Explosion Rocks FCT, Police Launch Investigation
Abuja – The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed an explosion near the Mararaba-Nyanya Bypass on Monday, May 26, 2025, resulting in injuries to one individual.
The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m., according to a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh. Officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit were immediately deployed to the site for emergency response.
“The affected area was swiftly cordoned off for clearance and forensic analysis to ensure the safety of commuters and residents,” the statement said.
The injured male victim was promptly rescued and is currently receiving medical care at a nearby hospital. His condition remains stable.
Investigation Ongoing
The FCT Police have launched a comprehensive investigation to uncover the exact cause and nature of the explosion. While early findings are yet to be disclosed, the authorities have assured the public that there is no immediate threat to safety.
“There is no cause for alarm,” SP Adeh emphasized, urging residents to remain calm and vigilant.
