A fire broke out today at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, causing panic among patients and staff. The blaze reportedly started in an office on the third floor of the hospital’s South West 3 wing.
The Oyo State Fire Service responded promptly, arriving at the scene to combat the fire. Despite the quick action, fear spread throughout nearby wards, with patients and their relatives rushing out of the hospital in a panic.
Firefighters successfully brought the situation under control, but the hospital management has not yet issued an official statement regarding the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage. No casualties have been reported so far, and the hospital is expected to address the incident soon.
