Inter Milan are reportedly preparing to increase their bid for Nigerian international Ademola Lookman to €45 million next week, as they intensify efforts to land the Atalanta forward, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
According to Corriere dello Sport editor Ivan Zazzaroni, the Nerazzurri have a summer transfer budget of €100 million made available by owners Oaktree Capital. Lookman has been identified as the club’s top attacking priority for the new season.
“Oaktree have made €100 million available for transfers,” Zazzaroni stated in an Instagram post. “Lookman is their priority target.”
The editor added that Inter’s revised €45 million bid is expected to be submitted next week, putting the pressure on Atalanta CEO Antonio Percassi and Lookman to decide.
Inter had previously seen a €40 million offer rejected by Atalanta, who are said to be holding out for €50 million for the 27-year-old forward.
Earlier reports from Tuttosport suggested Inter had issued a final deadline and were unwilling to match the asking price, but Zazzaroni’s update signals a change in strategy.
