Gospel artist and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has urged his followers to avoid turning their passion for faith into an “unholy obsession.”
In a statement on his X handle on Monday, he emphasized that not knowing him or other young ministers does not make anyone less Christian. He also clarified that choosing not to participate in his midnight Hallelujah Challenge does not weaken one’s faith.
“Many Christians have never heard of me or my music, and that’s okay. It doesn’t make them any less Christian,” he said.
Bassey urged believers to respect each other’s choices, whether they join the Hallelujah Challenge or not.
“Apples don’t grow everywhere. That doesn’t mean places without apples are bad,” he explained.
Quoting Romans 14:3, he reminded followers not to judge others based on their spiritual practices.
Despite addressing these concerns, he announced that the Hallelujah Challenge would resume that night, encouraging participants to join in worship.
