OPay Set to Host Empowering Futures Conference 2025, Unveils CyberLab Initiative

By Oluwakemi Abimbola | October 27, 2025

Leading financial technology company, OPay, has announced plans to host the Empowering Futures Conference 2025 on October 31 at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, marking one year since the launch of its landmark ₦1.2 billion, 10-Year Scholarship Programme for youth education and development.

In a statement released on Sunday, OPay said the upcoming conference will gather key stakeholders from academia, private sector, and media to review the progress made so far and explore new ways to enhance social impact through collaboration.

Since its inception, the OPay Scholarship Programme has onboarded 20 tertiary institutions nationwide, offering hundreds of students across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones access to tuition support, accommodation funding, and essential learning materials.

According to the company, the Empowering Futures Conference 2025 will not only celebrate these achievements but also feature the official unveiling of the OPay CyberLab Initiative — a forward-thinking project designed to advance digital literacy, innovation, and tech education in Nigeria’s higher institutions.

The event will also highlight OPay’s Graduate Recruitment Initiative, which connects exceptional graduates with career opportunities within the company’s growing ecosystem.

Speaking ahead of the conference, Elizabeth Wang, OPay’s Chief Commercial Officer, said the company’s goal is to bridge the gap between education and technology to drive national transformation.

“At OPay, our belief is simple: access to quality education and technology creates lasting change. Through the Scholarship Programme, Graduate Recruitment, and now the CyberLab Initiative, we’re helping young Nigerians turn potential into purpose,” she said.

The fintech giant emphasized that the Empowering Futures Conference represents a milestone in its CSR journey, reaffirming its commitment to empowering Nigerian youth through education, innovation, and opportunity.

Established in 2018, OPay has become one of Nigeria’s leading fintech companies, offering a range of digital financial services — including money transfer, bill payment, airtime and data purchase, card services, and merchant payments.

Licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and insured by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Commission (NDIC), OPay continues to deliver fast, reliable, and inclusive financial services across the country.
