The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), often known as the Shia movement, is thought to be responsible for the alleged attacks on the convoy of Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
According to a statement from the Command’s spokesman, DSP Mohammed Jalige, armed thugs believed to be IMN members attacked law-abiding citizens and blocked drivers from using the Bakin Ruwa axis of the Rigasa, Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway. The security personnel attached to the Governor’s convoy were then tasked with clearing the area.
He explained that the hoodlums in a huge number were intercepted harassing innocent residents on Thursday at about 3 pm when the convoy of the Kaduna state Governor arrived at the place.
