The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has recovered 125 stolen manholes from vandals targeting public infrastructure in Abuja.
During an intelligence-led operation in the Dei-Dei area, officers recovered 10 manholes hidden in a pit. This follows a major breakthrough last week when the police, in collaboration with the FCT Joint Task Force, intercepted and retrieved vandalized public assets.
FCT Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh emphasized the importance of public cooperation, noting that the latest recovery was made possible through a tip-off from a concerned citizen.
Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, has issued a stern warning to vandals and those involved in the illegal trade of stolen infrastructure. He assured that the police would continue to track and dismantle storage sites used for hiding stolen public property.
The police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to help curb vandalism in the FCT.
