Two individuals have lost their lives, while six others are receiving treatment at Bowen University Teaching Hospital following a lone road accident at Oolo community, near the end of the Oyo/Ogbomoso Road, on Friday.

According to investigations by PUNCH Online on Saturday, the incident involved a commercial Nissan car that collided with rocks placed as barricades by a construction company near the Ipeba area.

An eyewitness reported that the tragic crash claimed the lives of the driver and a female passenger, whose identities were yet to be disclosed at the time of filing this report.

The deceased victims’ remains have been deposited at the morgue of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso.

Confirming the incident, the Oyo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mary Alo, told PUNCH Online that the accident resulted from the vehicle crashing into the barricade rocks.

“I am aware that there was a crash at Oolo. I received information in that regard. They ran into the rock, two died, and six injured individuals were taken to the hospital for medical attention,” she said.
