It was another standout weekend for Nigerian footballers across Europe, with Victor Osimhen once again stealing the show for Galatasaray in Turkey, as compatriots Gift Orban, Prosper Peter, and others delivered impressive performances in Italy, France, and beyond.
🇹🇷 TURKEY: Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray)
Osimhen continued his electric form in Istanbul, scoring as Galatasaray came from behind to defeat Goztepe 3–1, extending their unbeaten Super Lig run to seven matches.
After Goztepe took an early lead, Osimhen equalised in style — dribbling past defenders and coolly slotting home after a slick dummy. Though his penalty appeal was denied by VAR earlier, his response was emphatic.
The Nigerian striker later went close to a second before being substituted in the 86th minute. With three league goals and three in the Champions League, Osimhen has now contributed to 10 goals this season across all competitions.
Galatasaray remain six points clear at the top and next face Trabzonspor, setting up an exciting duel between Osimhen and compatriot Paul Onuachu.
🇮🇹 ITALY: Gift Orban (Hellas Verona)
In Serie A, Gift Orban found the net again but Hellas Verona were held to a 2–2 draw by Cagliari.
Orban doubled Verona’s lead with a well-timed strike after a fast counterattack, but late goals from Riyad Idrissi and Mattia Felici denied them their first win of the season.
Despite Verona’s struggles, Orban’s form has been a bright spot, with two goals in his first eight appearances for the club.
🇫🇷 FRANCE: Prosper Peter (Angers)
At Stade Raymond-Kopa, Nigerian-eligible teenager Prosper Peter opened the scoring in Angers’ 2–0 win over Lorient before being substituted due to injury.
The 18-year-old showed remarkable composure, firing home from close range in the 15th minute. His early exit was a precaution after a knock, but the young forward’s potential continues to shine.
Lorient’s Tosin Aiyegun missed a penalty, while goalkeeper Hervé Koffi ensured Angers’ second victory of the season.
🏴 ENGLAND: Daniel Udoh (Salford City)
In League Two, Daniel Udoh scored again as Salford City claimed a 2–1 win away at Gillingham.
The forward opened the scoring in the seventh minute, adding to his excellent start to the season. Udoh has now registered four goals and four assists in eight games, propelling Salford to third on the table, just a point off the top.
🇰🇼 KUWAIT: Anayo Iwuala (Al Arabi)
Anayo Iwuala continued his rich vein of form, scoring in Al Arabi’s 2–2 comeback draw against Al-Safa in the AFC Challenge League.
Iwuala converted a penalty early in the second half to inspire the turnaround and has now scored four goals in four matches this season.
🇵🇱 POLAND: Paul Mukairu (Pogoń Szczecin)
Super-sub Paul Mukairu struck an 87th-minute winner as Pogoń Szczecin edged Cracovia 2–1 in the Ekstraklasa.
All three of his goals this season have been decisive, cementing his status as one of the league’s most reliable late-game scorers.
🇸🇪 SWEDEN: Samuel Nnamani (Nordic United)
Samuel Nnamani came off the bench to bag a brace in Nordic United’s 3–3 draw with Sollentuna FK in the Swedish Ettan Norra.
The Nigerian forward now has 11 goals in 26 appearances, helping his side stay four points clear at the top of the table.
🇺🇦 UKRAINE: Prosper Obah (LNZ Cherkasy)
Prosper Obah continued his red-hot streak, scoring in LNZ Cherkasy’s win over Metalist 1925 — his third goal in as many games.
With five goals and one assist this season, Obah has been instrumental in Cherkasy’s five-game unbeaten run, as they lead the Ukrainian league with 20 points.
