Fulham Renew Interest in Samuel Chukwueze Amid Milan Exit Talks

CHUKWUEZE

Premier League club Fulham have rekindled their interest in Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze, who could be on his way out of AC Milan, according to Italian reports.

The 26-year-old Super Eagles star joined Milan from Villarreal in a €20 million deal in 2023 but has struggled to cement a starting role in Stefano Pioli’s squad. After an underwhelming 2024/25 campaign — where he made just nine starts in 26 Serie A appearances, scoring three goals and assisting twice — Milan appear open to selling him as part of a summer reshuffle.

During Milan’s recent pre-season victory over Liverpool (4-2) in Hong Kong, Chukwueze featured for 27 minutes, replacing Rafael Leão in the 63rd minute. However, the winger failed to make any goal contributions, further underlining his uncertain role in the team.

With Milan missing out on Champions League qualification and facing financial pressure, the club is reportedly offloading fringe players to fund new signings. Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Ismaël Bennacer and Yacine Adli are already marked for exit, while Fulham are monitoring Chukwueze’s availability closely.

This marks Fulham’s second attempt to sign Chukwueze, after a previous approach in the January transfer window fell through. This time, Marco Silva’s side appear more determined to land their target, as they seek to strengthen their squad for the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Despite his struggles, Chukwueze has made 69 appearances for Milan across all competitions, contributing 14 goal involvements, and still has three years left on his current contract.

If the move materializes, Chukwueze would join a growing list of Nigerian internationals in the Premier League and potentially reignite his career in England’s top flight.
