Man City Eye Premier League Title Twist as Pressure Mounts on Frank, Howe

Manchester City will look to intensify pressure on Premier League leaders Arsenal when they face Fulham on Wednesday, with the chance to reduce the gap at the top to just three points.

The champions’ dramatic late comeback victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday has reignited hopes of another title charge under Pep Guardiola.

Arsenal, chasing their first league title in 22 years, remain favourites but face a tricky away test against in-form Brentford a day later.

City’s Late Rally Sparks Title Hopes

City overturned a 1-0 deficit in the final minutes against Liverpool, a result that could prove decisive in the title race.

Midfielder Bernardo Silva admitted that defeat would have almost ended their hopes.

“We need to believe and start winning games,” said Erling Haaland.

Despite leading the Golden Boot race, the Norwegian striker has scored only once from open play in his last 13 appearances.

“I haven’t scored enough goals this year and I need to improve,” Haaland admitted.

City, who have won six league titles under Guardiola, traditionally finish strongly, and a favourable fixture list could help them mount another late surge.

Arsenal Face Tough Brentford Test

Mikel Arteta’s side have recovered from a January dip with four consecutive wins in all competitions.

However, Brentford, who have lost only twice at home this season, are expected to pose a serious challenge to Arsenal’s title ambitions.

The Gunners’ visit to the Etihad in mid-April could prove decisive in determining the champions.

Liverpool’s Champions League Hopes Under Threat

Liverpool’s defeat to City has further damaged their bid for Champions League qualification, leaving them four points outside the top five.

Arne Slot’s injury-hit squad face another difficult test away to Sunderland, who boast the league’s only unbeaten home record.

The Reds will be without key midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai following his late red card against City.

With Manchester United and Chelsea enjoying easier fixtures, Liverpool risk falling further behind, increasing pressure on Slot.

Frank, Howe Under Growing Pressure

Tottenham and Newcastle, despite reaching the Champions League knockout stages, are struggling in the league’s bottom half.

Both sides meet in north London on Tuesday, with their managers under scrutiny.

Spurs boss Thomas Frank admitted his side are “desperate”, sitting just six points above the relegation zone in 15th place.

Repeated poor results have sparked calls from fans for his dismissal.

Howe’s Future at Newcastle Uncertain

Eddie Howe remains popular on Tyneside after delivering a League Cup triumph and Champions League qualification in recent seasons.

However, Newcastle’s league struggles have raised doubts over his long-term future.

Reports linking Howe with England and Manchester United have further fuelled speculation ahead of the summer.
